The Blace crossing police officer who allowed ex-Deputy PM Artan Grubi to leave North Macedonia without a check, B.J., has been charged. Police suspect he abused his position because he didn’t check whether Grubi’s name was on the list of people required to be held.
He also wrote that Grubi and businessperson Arsim Papraniku had crossed the border by foot, not by car.
“The police officer, B.J., didn’t wait for the system to determine whether there was an active measure for the persons, but rather gave the travel documents back to them immediately. After that, they left the crossing”, the charge reads.
Chief Public Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski said on Friday it was also being investigated whether other people had been involved as well. However, he didn’t confirm whether Grubi was in Kosovo.
