Citizens that will not have a valid ID or a new passport will not be able to vote in the elections. Caretaker Interior Minister Pance Toskovski has informed about the issue.
He was told by the Interior Ministry’s services that it was about 100,000 adults without an ID who have a passport containing the previous constitutional name.
On Friday, Ombudsperson Naser Ziberi called for the matter to be solved in order for there to be a fair election process. Also, he urged the Ministry to be more efficient in terms of issuing documents to citizens’ applications for which all procedures have been completed. The State Election Commission confirmed for Kanal 5 on Friday that old passports couldn’t be used to vote.
