Confidence in Judiciary Disastrous and Cataclysmic, PM Assesses

“Confidence in the judiciary is disastrous and cataclysmic. There being no legal state is also a security threat to the country,” PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Wednesday, asked why he was adhering to the stand on disbanding the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors.

However, he added again that the Government was ready to hear all sides out.

Consultations will last at least until the end of August, after which there will be a decision on what type of judicial reforms will be implemented, the PM explained.

The plea deals of former Supreme Court Judge Nake Georgiev and former Council of Public Prosecutors Ixhet Memeti in the case concerning accepting a reward for unlawful influence, the PM believes, represent proof that urgent judicial reforms are needed.
