Constitutional Changes: Government Members and Opposition still Divided

Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani is optimistic that the constitutional changes will be adopted and that the Government’s initial goal was by November.

However, he said in an interview with Sitel TV on Monday that the real deadline is the last day of the current composition of Parliament’s term. “Until the last day, we will work to secure support, considering there are no arguments against. I think we have won this first battle. As proposers, we have won it, because we didn’t see resistance from the expert public, from any public regarding the content of the changes,” he noted.

On the other hand, VMRO- DPMNE, commenting on Dimitar Kovacevski’s interview on Sunday, said the PM was citing non-existing statements from Sofia pointing to a conclusion that Bulgaria would not set new conditions on Skopje’s EU path.
