Constitutional Court to Debate Law on Use of Languages Next Month

The Constitutional Court will debate the Law on Use of Languages on 11 December. The date has already been planned and announced to Judges, though the session is yet to be scheduled.

However, Sitel has said that the two Judges from the ethnic Albanian community have fiercely opposed the announcement and even said they will boycott the session. The case was formed on the basis of 13 initiatives from different citizens, parties, and associations in 2019. However, it’s been active since the Venice Commission’s remarks.

On Wednesday, commenting on Ali Ahmeti’s response to Kosovan PM Albin Kurti’s comments on the matter, the latter’s counterpart, Hristijan Mickoski, described the DUI leader’s reactions as shocking.

On the other hand, Ziadin Sela, who heads the Alliance for Albanians wing that is part of the DUI-led European Front, said the Albanian people should give the answer to the Court’s decision.
