The Constitutional Court decided at a session on Wednesday to accept the initiative filed by prosecutor Lence Ristovska and to initiate procedures against the new regulations for promotion of members of the Council of Public Prosecutors.
The evaluation for promotions has been conducted by a rulebook that the members of the Council of Public Prosecutors created themselves, which is unacceptable because the evaluation procedure was already regulated by the Law on Public Prosecution.
According to the initiative filed by Ristoska, this is a matter which cannot be regulated with rules of procedure, and because it cannot be regulated by a law either, the conclusion is that the council members made the rules by themselves in order to excel in their careers based solely on their membership in the Council.
Ristoska initiated the procedures after the Council of Public Prosecutors did not accept her application for promotion under explanation that she is too young and because she used maternity leave.
