The Court of Appeals has made public its decision to accept the appeal filed by Bojan Jovanovski in the Racket case and reduce his sentence from nine to five years.
As it said on Tuesday, with its analysis of documents about his diagnosis and ones related to the case, it’s been found that the altered sentence will have a sufficient impact on the convicted person in terms of them not committing crimes in the future.
Among the medical documents submitted by Jovanovski were a finding from the Pathology Institute of the Medical Faculty (dated 14 December 2022) and a report from the Gastroenterohepatology Clinic (dated 23 November 2022).
In the case, Jovanovski was initially sentenced to nine years for accepting a reward for unlawful influence and money laundering.
