Parliament still hasn’t received the notification from the Constitutional Court about its decision, made around two weeks ago, and a six-month deadline to rectify the situation caused by the 2023 Criminal Code changes.
On Friday, Speaker Afrim Gashi, however, stated that even if MPs did get the notification, they didn’t work on the basis of principles of other institutions, that is, changes would be made only if an initiative came from parliamentarians.
Gashi presented the same stand also with regards to the Court’s decision on the Electronic Communication Law. Considering the Court had sent the document back to Parliament in September, that means it will be known within a month what MPs will do regarding that Law.
