On Thursday, Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic delivered an address in Parliament in Skopje, saying it was not fair that negotiations on the EU chapters still hadn’t been opened with North Macedonia.
“To us, in Croatia, it matters that the decision to open negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania was made during our Presidency of the Union in March 2020. However, unfortunately, even five years on, your negotiations still haven’t been formally opened. That’s not fair. Bearing that in mind, we understand the impatience of your citizens. Croatia highly appreciates your achievements and believes that you’ve deserved much greater progress and will support you on the European path”, he noted.
Also, the Croatian Speaker stated his country’s path to EU membership, too, had been hard. In that regard, however, he added that North Macedonia should persist.
