Deal Reached: Kapetanovic to Succeed Bregu as RCC Secretary General

Amer Kapetanovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the candidate to succeed Majlinda Bregu as Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary-General.

The deal was reached in Skopje on Wednesday, at the end of North Macedonia’s presidency of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP). Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said it was another victory of North Macedonia’s diplomacy, following last year’s deal at the OSCE Ministerial in the capital of Skopje for Malta to take over the Chairpersonship-in-Office.

The deal for Kapetanovic to be the new RCC Secretary-General should be made official on Thursday (13 June), when the SEECP Foreign Ministers meeting and the SEECP Heads of State and Government Summit, hosted by Osmani and President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, respectively, will take place.

Among the participants in the SEECP activities will also be Greece’s Foreign Minister, George Gerapetritis.
