Defence Minister Petrovska Participates in North Atlantic Council Meetings

In Brussels on Thursday, Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska participated in NATO’s North Atlantic Council meetings at a ministerial level. During the two sessions, there were discussions on many topics, including transatlantic unity, deterrence and defence plans, increased investments in defence, and the Allied support for Ukraine.

Petrovska talked about the members of North Macedonia’s Army’ role in solidifying collective security, defence, and deterrence through their participation in the multinational forces of NATO in Latvia, Romania, and Bulgaria.

“NATO is a defensive alliance. We don’t pose a threat to anybody. However, we are one and united in our unshakable commitment to defending our Allied countries with over one billion people,” she stressed.

At the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, she reaffirmed North Macedonia’s support for Ukraine.
