Monday saw another failed attempt to put the Defenders Draft-Law on the agenda of the session of the Social Policy Committee, chaired by European Front MP Ilire Dauti, who’s part of the Alliance for Albanians wing headed by Ziadin Sela.
In response to calls from SDSM parliamentarians for the matter to be discussed by the body headed by her, Dauti stated that according to the Rules of Procedure, all deadlines had expired.
“You know the item was proposed on 11 September. Since then, many days have passed. The deadline for me putting the matter on the agenda lasted 6-24 hours,” she stressed.
In response, VMRO-DPMNE MPs slammed her actions. Parliamentarian Eli Panova even stated that if Dauti didn’t put the text on the agenda, a no-confidence motion would be filed against her. Ethnic Albanian MPs have taken issue with the fact that the text doesn’t include KLA members.
