Deputy Ombudsperson: Not enough Investment to Overcome Discrimination

“Discrimination is the most painful issue a citizen can face. The fact that we continue to witness different types of discrimination shows there is not enough investment to overcome this problem,” Vaska Bajramovska-Mustafa, Deputy Ombudsperson, said on Tuesday.

As Bajramovska-Mustafa also pointed out, regarding discrimination, though there are violations and desertification by citizens in all areas in which the Ombudsperson acts, the problem is most present regarding “access to the workplace, sense of inequality or harassment, mobbing in the workplace”.

UN Resident Coordinator Rossana Dudziak stated that there were 17 active UN agencies in North Macedonia that covered all- encompassing areas such as employment, social services, good governance et cetera.

As she added, in all those areas, there are discrimination problems, with fake news being the basis of discrimination.
