Deputy PM Maricic Comments on Srebrenica Resolution and Open Balkan Issues

Commenting on Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and the Srebrenica draft resolution co-sponsorship issue, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Maricic said on Wednesday said that North Macedonia’s stand had been very clear and laid down as early as the 2010 Declaration in Parliament where that was condemned as genocide.

However, in his view, there should be a distinction, that is, Srebrenica is one thing, but that stain can be placed on the whole Serbian people or Serbia.

Maricic believes that the liability for Srebrenica should be individualised. That is why, the Deputy PM added, international courts and tribunals exist.

Regarding the Open Balkan issue, he stated that all such initiatives were positive.
