Dimitrieska’s Council Declines to Comment on Matters Related to Kambovski’s Institution

The Council of Public Prosecutors has declined to comment on matters related to the Aleksandar Kambovski-headed Judicial Council and no-confidence motions against the five members of that institution elected by Parliament (Vesna Dameva, Milazim Mustafa, Tanja Cacarova-Ilievska, Pavlina Crvenkovska, and Selim Ademi).

Only Mustafa has voiced a stand on the motions. He told MTV2 that he would resign only if a professional violation and oversight was determined, that is, not if the motion was successful.

Three members of the Council of Prosecutors itself were elected by Parliament, but there’s been no initiative to dismiss them even though PM Hristijan Mickoski was of the opinion that both Councils should be disbanded.

On Monday, the President of the Council of Prosecutors, Dusica Dimitrieska, stated if her institution faced a similar situation, it would discuss what action to take.

Monday also saw the Council unanimously elect Natasa Krstevska Caleva as Chief of the Skopje Higher Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office. She is succeeding Mustafa Hajrullahi, who has been suspended.
