On Monday, DUI responded to PM Hristijan Mickoski’s comments that he had information according to which DUI would take steps to destabilise the country.
“Without commenting on the political spins and bluffs, we want to clarify that we have a mandate and responsibility from Albanian voters to protect the legitimacy, political will, and dignity of the voice and Albanian people in the country.
We will take all democratic measures and means to prevent the humiliation and outvoting of Albanians by imposing vassals. As far as the unfounded accusations about violations of the laws are concerned, we once again call on parties to check all public office holders with international assistance. Only that way will the bluffing, witch-hunt, and abuse of the fight against corruption for political purposes end,” the party said.
A reaction came from SDSM leader Venko Filipce, too, who said if Mickoski said any information about potential destabilisation or violation of peace in the country, he had to urgently share it with relevant institutions.
If he doesn’t, Filipce added, he is becoming an accomplice or political factor that perhaps has an interest in that situation.
