DUI informed on Monday afternoon that their MPs will provide support in the Parliament for the Draft-changes to the Law on Local Self-Government.
The law-changes are proposed by the ruling majority, and their aim is to avoid the organisation of snap local elections in three municipalities, Aerodrom, Gostivar and Saraj, after their mayors assumed offices in the institutions of the state.
From VMRO-DPMNE they state that the elimination of obligation for snap local elections will also result with saving of money in the budgets of the municipalities and the state budget too.
If the law-changes are adopted, the municipalities in question will be managed by their acting mayors, until the regular local election take place, expectedly around October 2025.
