Efforts to combat the severe wildfires throughout the country have continued. Crisis Management Centre head Stojance Angelov said in the morning two planes had arrived from Romania. “They will immediately join the planes and helicopters that previously arrived from Turkiye, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro,” he said. Serta Mountain remains the most critical point, where the wildfire is stretching 30 kilometres. Also, Negotino Mayor Goran Stojanov said the situation near Pepeliste village was worrying.
When it comes to the Ograzden Mountain wildfire, the situation is reaching alarming levels. Novo Selo Mayor Gjorgje Bozinov, fire-fighters, hunters, and several people from nearby villages were safely evacuated after the Mayor had said in a video posted on social media they were trapped in a fire, within a radius of 500 metres. A wildfire broke out also at the border with Greece, which resulted in the Bogorodica crossing being shut down. The crossing was opened after, when the fire, on the Greek side of the border, had been put out. When it comes to the wildfire above Bitola, it was put under control.
