Asked by Telma on Wednesday about the decision to blacklist also ex-Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva’s deceased husband, the US Embassy said it was about an administrative error.
As it added, it has full confidence in the evidence and gathered information requested by it, according to US law, to blacklist Janeva.
“Those data are carefully checked both here and in Washington on every individual we include on our list. It’s standard practice to designate members of the immediate family of those we believe are involved in significant corruption. In this case, information about one family member was not current and it’s about an administrative error,” the Embassy stated.
