Enlargement Continues to Be Determined Priority of EU, Says MEP and Rapporteur Waitz

Despite the Ukraine situation, enlargement continues to be a determined priority of the EU, Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz, who’s the Rapporteur on North Macedonia, said in Skopje.

In North Macedonia’s Parliament on Tuesday, he met representatives of parties represented in the legislative house. The drawing up of a report on North Macedonia, which is ready to start negotiations, is underway, he added.

However, the Rapporteur underlined the obligation concerning the constitutional changes issue.

VMRO-DPMNE MP Ivanka Vasilevska said the meeting of the Copenhagen criteria was the fundamental condition for EU accession talks. The MEP also met representatives of VLEN and SDSM MP and leader Venko Filipce.
