In an interview with RFE Macedonian, EU Ambassador David Geer said judicial reform was absolutely crucial.
“So, in our view what needs to happen, yes, there is a need for radical action, we fully agree with the government on that, but we need to build on what’s been achieved already, and we have plenty of good analyses and good advice, including the peer-review, including the recent Rule of Law report, including the annual country report, which shows how to move forward in a way which will strengthen the judiciary and meet the demands of citizens,” he said, asked about the issue of disbanding the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors.
In the interview, the Ambassador also discussed other topics, including Prespa Agreement implementation and Negotiating Framework issues.
