Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska and Director of the Slovenian Organisation ITF Enhancing Human Security, Tomaz Lovrencic, signed on Wednesday a Memorandum for understanding between North Macedonia and the European Peace Fund, which will secure support for the Army of North Macedonia in value of around 9 million euros.
“These funds will be used for procurement of logistics equipment, medical equipment, communicational systems, upgrade of intelligence capacities and of the training capacities, all in accordance with the NATO standards. This support confirms the strategic goal of our country, which is accession in the EU,” Petrovska said.
EU Ambassador David Geer said that this is one of the first contribution of the European Peace Fund, apart from the support provided for Ukraine.
