Former State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) President Biljana Ivanovska believes that her successor, Tatjana Dimitrovska, should immediately resign because she’s been named a suspect and issued measures of precaution in the Additive case.
“The SCPC President must resign most urgently because, this way, she is still infecting the institution”, she noted.
Asked whether the Dimitrovska case was undermining the SCPC’s credibility, Ivanovska stressed that the matter had delivered a severe blow to society, citizens, and the institution.
The ex-SCPC head believes that Parliament, to which the institution’s President and members report, should take action. The same day, the SCPC said procedures to determine individual accountability didn’t undermine institutional and collective commitment, adding that it remained fully consistent with the principles of integrity and that it did independent and efficient work.
“We are aware of the importance and significance of confidence from the public. Therefore, we will continue to work with the highest level of transparency and cooperate with relevant institutions, providing respect for laws and highest standards of ethics in the frames of the SCPC”, it was added in the press-release.
