A fire broke out at 10:30 am on Wednesday at Evro-Kom factory in Falise village, located in the Tetovo region.
Though fire-fighters from Tetovo, Skopje, Gostivar, and Veles managed to put it under control, big quantities of paint, lacquer, and other types of chemicals burned down. Therefore, the Public Health Centre called on citizens not to leave their homes.
Crisis Management Centre Director Stojance Angelov stated that the Army’s biological and chemical weapons department had been asked to measure the pollution leave. “I talked to the owner. It’s about a big number, perhaps as many as 100 tonnes,” he stated.
