“We will continue to be different politically, but when it comes to the country, we must be solving problems together”, SDSM leader Venko Filipce said on Friday regarding the meeting held the previous day with PM Hristijan Mickoski.
As he explained, the working group experts will be at the disposal of ministries drawing up Reform Agenda laws. Afterwards, he expects, civil society representatives will join through a debate in Parliament.
Again, the SDSM leader called for a leaders’ meeting in a broader composition. Regarding parties from the ethnic Albanian bloc, he said he was calling on them not to cause divisions along ethnic lines, especially with regards to important issues of the country.
Mickoski himself stated that parties should unite when it came to state interests. He too expects other parties to join in order for solutions to be made through broad consensus.
DUI, however, again reiterated its criticism of the meeting, asking whether the “new societal agreement represents a coalition of the Mickoski-[ex-PM Zoran ] Zaev oligarchy” and whether the initiative represented the start of a “post-Ohrid [Framework Agreement] redesigning” of the country’s constitutional model.
