Filkov and Lloga Trade Accusations over Peer-Review Mission Materials

Justice Minister Igor Filkov said on Wednesday that his predecessor, Krenar Llloga, had taken the document containing the EU peer-review mission’s recommendations when he’d left the cabinet for the last time. As he explained, proceedings are underway and liability will be sought.

“Though the document represents classified information, it was taken by my predecessor,” the Minister stressed.

As a result, Filkov explained, the Ministry has since had to rely on electronic versions of only the part of the document that contains solely the recommendations, without the proper explanatory notes and official communication of the European Commission.

However, Lloga denied the accusation, The confidential part of the letter is at the Ministry, archived, he pointed out, adding that it had also been sent to the head of the working group, Vlado Kambovski.

According to Lloga, the letter from the mission was received electronically by him, then-Deputy PM Bojan Maricic, then-Judicial Council President Sasko Georgiev, and others.
