The fire at the Drisla landfill that started on Tuesday afternoon is still active. Director of the Protection and Rescue Directorate (DZS) Stojance Angelov informed that a great amount of waste in the middle of the landfill is still on fire, and smoke is scattered by the wind throughout different parts of Skopje.
While firefighters are still on terrain trying to extinguish the fire, Angelov proposed to the government to introduce a ban for movement in and around Drisla, Vardariste and other landfills where similar problems may occur, because DZS suspects that the fire at Drisla may have been deliberately set.
