On Tuesday afternoon, the first patient that had received treatment abroad following the Kocani fire, returned to North Macedonia. He suffered cuts and burns, but his general condition is good. After the short stay at the Toxicology Clinic, a process that’s according to protocol, he will be able to go home.
Previously, 12 patients had been discharged for in-home treatment. However, according to the Minister of Health, Arben Taravari, the condition of several critical patients receiving treatment abroad had worsened.
The same day, the Ministry said people more severely injured in the fire that would need longer rehabilitation would head to other countries in Europe that had already offered to help.
