In an interview with VoA Macedonian, Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, asked about the so-called double formula issue over the Prespa Agreement, said there was no double formula, adding that VMRO-DPMNE had voiced its stand.
“From a political standpoint, as a representative of VMRO-DPMNE, we’ve said it is a shameful and undignified act. However, at the same time, we’re aware of the constitutional-legal and political reality that comes with that Agreement.
Sure enough, also of the obligations the country has assumed from the standpoint of international public law. We cannot bring down those obligations just like that. That’s why we have said that, ‘Yes, it is an undignified deal, but one we have an obligation to respect.’
Therefore, we take all necessary measures to respect it. That the PM says he will colloquially use the term ‘Macedonia’ in public speeches domestically doesn’t constitute a violation of the Agreement. That’s our interpretation of the Agreement,” he stated.
