Foreign Minister Mucunski Meets NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg

In Brussels on Tuesday, Foreign and External Trade Minister Timco Mucunski met NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

Describing the meeting as positive and cordial, Mucunski confirmed the new government’s commitments in relation to NATO membership, such as the support for the defence and deterrence policy, and continued support for Ukraine.

The country, as a NATO member, Mucunski assessed, must be responsible, especially in the current, truly complex geopolitical context of Europe. Confirming the commitment to spending 2% of the GDP on national defence, he said such investments had to continue.

We consider that to be a national interest of ours, too,” the Minister added.

Mucunski and the NATO Secretary-General discussed also the upcoming Summit in Washington.
