In the frames of his working visit to Brussels, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.
They discussed current security challenges, as well as NATO’s activities to adapt to the new security reality, deal with challenges and strengthen defence and deterrence. Special attention was paid to the current state of affairs in the Western Balkans.
“The close coordination and joint activities of NATO and the EU in the Western Balkans, as well as speeding up the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of countries from the region represent key tools to consolidate regional stability and close the vacuum for potential destabilising influences by third sides,” Osmani said.
The meeting also focused on North Macedonia’s contribution to global peace, collective security, and regional stability, as well as on the Ukraine situation.
