According to the Association of Organisers of Games of Chance and the Association of Sports Betting Shops, the changes to the games of chance law will result in domestic betting shops and slot machine clubs closing up shop.
At a protest on Monday, the Associations’ representatives pointed out that if legal casinos were shut down, illegal ones would be opened in basements, which the state would not be able to control, over 10,000 people would lose their job, and the state would be left without incomes exceeding 200 million euros annually.
