Supreme Court Judge Nake Georgiev, who, according to the Prosecutor’s Office was caught in flagranti, with 10,000 euros on him, was on Tuesday issued a 30-day detention measure by the Criminal Court because the Office believes he may influence the procedure and repeat the crime.
In front of a judge in the previous procedure, he remained silent, that is, he only said he’d been set up.
The Judge had been arrested the previous day for accepting a reward for unlawful influence, following a report from the son of ex Novo Selo Mayor Boro Stojcev’s son.
The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption’s investigation covers Council of Public Prosecutors member Ixhet Memeti, too, for whom, measures of precaution have been sought, that is, he has an obligation to report to a court and his passport has been taken away.
Police have searched several locations, including the Judge’s office and the home of the Council of Public Prosecutors member.
