Gerapetritis again Says Greece Expects International Agreements to Be Respected

Regarding his meeting with counterpart Timco Mucunski in New York, Greece’s Foreign Minister, George Gerapetritis, has sent a message that Athens will remain a pioneer when it comes to the EU integration efforts of the Western Balkans, including North Macedonia.

However, without specifically mentioning the Prespa Agreement, he reiterates that Greece expects international agreements to be respected.

“During the meeting of the Friends of the Western Balkans group and, afterwards, at my meeting with North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister, I had an opportunity to highlight the need for the European perspective to stay active consistently. Sure enough, that must be done by absolutely respecting the EU acquis and international law, especially international agreements,” Gerapetritis says.
