Goce Delcev Foundation Invites North Macedonia and Bulgarian Governments to Joint Celebration

Under the auspices of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, the Goce Delcev Foundation has invited the Governments and MPs of Bulgaria and North Macedonia to a joint celebration of the revolutionary’s 153rd birthday.

On that occasion, a concert of classical music and poetry will be held on 4 February in the school Delcev went to, which is now Rakovski National Defence College in Sofia.

The Foundation’s head, Delcev’s nephew, Hristo Hristov, said political communication, too, should continue through culture, especially when it came to such a great revolutionary.

“We’re now opening up the opportunity for MPs from both countries, regardless of the parties they represent, to meet and be able to talk to one another on a very positive basis”, he said, adding that both the soloists and poetry would be from the two countries.

Actress and former MP Valentina Bozinovska is one of the participants invited by Hristov. Pointing to Delcev’s statement that it was culture that united, she underlined, as she said, the huge importance of cultural relations between Sofia and Skopje. North Macedonia’s Government hasn’t received an official request for a joint celebration, adding that that is not foreseen.
