Tomorrow (19 January), a PM Hristijan Mickoski-led delegation consisting also of Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, 1st Deputy PM and Environment and Physical Planning Minister Izet Mexhiti, who’s also a VLEN co-leader, and Deputy European Affairs Minister Viktorija Trajkov will start the several-day visit to the US, the Government said on Saturday.
In addition to attending the inauguration of Donald Trump as US President, the delegation will be part of Voices of Freedom, the inaugural after party hosted by Trump Media and Rumble.
It’s expected that the PM will hold multiple bilateral meetings and contacts with multiple people from the new administration. During the visit, Mickoski will meet Trump transition co-chief Howard Lutnick, who’s been picked by the President-elect to lead the Department of Commerce, Devin Nunes, the CEO of Trump’s TruthSocial platform, who will be appointed as Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
The PM will meet Macedonian American businesspersons as well, with whom there will be a discussion on economic cooperation and potential domestic investments. The Government also said the goal of the visit was to affirm the country’s positions before the new administration and foster the good relations with Washington.
On Sunday, after he’d arrived in the US, the PM met Chris Pavlovski, Rumble Founder and CEO.
Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi has said he will attend the inauguration too. As he pointed out, he considers the invitation as proof of the commitment to the continued cooperation with the US in all areas.
Arben Taravari, Health Minister and VLEN co-leader, too, will be part of the event. The inauguration, he stressed, is an important step to strengthening relations with Washington. According to announcements, he will meet representatives of the US and other countries, Alsat reported.
Another VLEN co-leader, Alternative’s Zeqirja Ibrahimi, too, will participate in the inauguration. The fourth VLEN co-leader, Tetovo Mayor Bilall Kasami, stated that though he’d been invited, he wouldn’t be able to attend because he had obligations.
