Government Makes Numerous Decisions at Session

At its session on Wednesday, the Government put the Finance Ministry under an obligation to prepare a law that will regulate the financial cooperation with Hungary over the 500-million-euro loan.

Also at the session, the Transport Ministry said it had managed to reach consent with the Kicevo-Ohrid motorway contractor, SINOHYDRO, to withdraw the arbitration before the Paris court in the process against the PE for State Roads.

“This means over 50 million euros have been saved. The money would have been spent had the arbitration procedure continued,” the Government said.

The Finance Ministry, at the session, said the Strumica-based ARENA GAMING slot machine club had been stripped off its licence to organise games of chance because of non-payment of tax and unlawful operations.

At the same time, as the Government said, it has been found that the National Lottery would unlawfully grant licences to organise games of chance.

“Relevant investigative institutions will be notified of that,” it was added in the press-release.

The session also saw numerous staff decisions. The Government recommended to the Managing Board of the PE for State Roads to elect Nazim Taipi as its Acting Deputy Director.

As the Government also explained, as a result of the irregularities detected by the Directorate for Execution of Sanctions, Filip Andov has been dismissed as head of the Suto Orizari Prison. Boban Utkovski is the new, acting, head of the institution. Other prisons in Skopje and other cities too received new, acting directors.
