Government Says Grounds Exist Now, too, to Initiate Proceedings against US-Blacklisted Persons

Asked about the issue of a restrictive measures law, the Government says that there are now too grounds to initiate proceedings against US-blacklisted persons.

“The Law on International Cooperation in Criminal Matters was adopted in 2021. It provides for the possibility of a relevant domestic organ, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in this case, sending letters rogatory for cooperation in criminal matters to a foreign country’s relevant institution.

Additionally, this Law enables also the formation of joint investigative teams to investigate and prosecute acts of crime, while the agreement on a joint investigative team is signed by the state Prosecutor of Macedonia,” it explained.
