The Government has said it will submit the draft-decision to dismiss Ljupco Kocevski as Chief Prosecutor to the Council of Public Prosecutors in several days.
The Council’s President, Dusica Dimitrieska has already said her institution will present an opinion (a positive or negative one) within the legal deadline of 15 days. In the meantime, the Council will submit the draft-decision to Kocevski himself, who has said that he will voice a stand on the text once he receives it.
Parliament will have final say, that is, if 61 MPs vote in favour of Kocevski’s dismissal, his term as Chief Prosecutor will end. Regarding the matter, French Ambassador Christophe Le Rigoleur said on Wednesday it was an internal one, adding that, “We’re not interfering in that”.
As he added, his country and the EU strongly support judicial reforms.
