Greek Media React to Mickoski’s Tasmarunista Visit, Radev Sends Congratulatory Message to Counterpart

In their coverage of the marking of Ilinden Uprising Day and Day of the Republic (2 August) in North Macedonia, that is, PM Hristijan Mickoski’s visit to Tasmarunista village on that occasion, Greek media said the northern neighbour’s authorities continued to violate the Prespa Agreement.

Regarding Mickoski’s post on X (formerly Twitter) about the visit, Proto Thema said not only had the PM used “Macedonia”, but also the photos part of the post clearly showed the old flag of the country, containing the Vergina Sun. Reactions over Ilinden Uprising Day came from Bulgaria too.

“2 August is a glorious date for our common history,” the country’s President, Rumen Radev, said in a congratulatory message to counterpart Siljanovska Davkova.

“The high ideals of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising are today the basis of united Europe’s values,” he also pointed out.
