Grubi Case: Toskovski Declines to Speculate on Whereabouts, Mexhiti Says Nobody’s above Law

Interior Minister Pance Toskovski doesn’t want to speculate about where ex-Deputy PM Artan Grubi, who is a suspect in the Lottery case, is. In his view, what matters is that an international warrant has been issued.

In an interview with Sitel, the Interior Minister called on Grubi, “if he’s crystal clean [a reference to the stand presented by the ex-Deputy PM himself]”, to return to the country and face all accusations submitted to prosecutors.

Regarding the police officer charged over Grubi’s escape, Toskovski said he’d made a cardinal mistake. Also, the Minister welcomed “DUI distancing itself from a fugitive”.

According to VLEN co-leader Izet Mexhiti, who is the 1st Deputy PM, the message from the government is that nobody is above the law. “It’s up to the Interior Ministry, judiciary, and Prosecutor’s Office to deal with the Grubi and other cases,” he noted.
