The Interior Ministry’s Internal Control Department has filed a criminal charge before the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption against Sabedin Sinani, head of Parliament Speaker Gashi’s security detail, for threatening the safety and preventing an official person in performance of an official act in relation to the 1 August incident at the Skopje airport involving Kosovan President Osmani-Sadriu.
As police said on Monday, at around 10:30 am on 1 August, at the parking lot outside the airport’s VIP area, he arrived in a vehicle with flashing lights, got out of it, pulled a gun from the holster, cocked it, and put it back in the holster.
Also, according to the Interior Ministry, he addressed the airport officer who was doing his job outside the VIP area’s door in a high tone, shoved him, and, threatening him, prevented him from performing official activities.
Sinani had been sent to the airport by Gashi in order for the misunderstanding over Osmani-Sadriu and security procedures for scanning of luggage and electronic devices with regards to commercial flights to be overcome.
Then, together with two other officers from the Sector of Security of Persons, Sinani entered the VIP area and, moving on premises where he didn’t have authorisation, started to make death threats against TAV Macedonia employees and officers from the border police sector and the department of protection of designated persons and facilities, demanding, at the same time, for him to take the Kosovan President to the plane in his vehicle.
