Heavy Snowfalls Cause problems in Traffic All Over Country

The snowfalls that occurred on Saturday caused serious problems along the roads around the country.

PE Makedonija Pat and the Auto-Moto Association (AMSM) informed that the roads Struga-Kjafasan, Kratovo-Probishtip, Gostivar-Strazha, Bitola-Resen, Gradsko-Prilep, Tetovo-Popova Shapka and Kriva Palanka-Deve Bair have all been closed for freight vehicles due to the slippery surface caused by the snowfalls, but were back in function on Sunday.

The Skopje-Veles motorway was also completely closed for several hours after a truck crashed. The Crisis Management Centre (CMC) received over 2,000 calls for vehicles stuck in snow at roads in the mountain areas and similar interventions.
