House Arrest Measure for Papazov, Trajkovski and Other Suspects in Kocani Fire Case

In the frames of the Kocani fire investigation, Ljupco Papazov, who resigned as Mayor following the tragedy, ex-State Market Inspectorate Director Goran Trajkovski, one Inspectorate inspector, and a person that worked security for the Pulse nightclub, have been sent to house arrest as a result of the Prosecutor’s Office’s request that the detention measure against them be replaced with the aforementioned one.

Papazov’s predecessors, Ratko Dimitrievski and Nikolco Ilijev, are under house arrest, too, as are former Economy Ministers Valon Saracini and Bekim Neziri.

Another former Economy Minister, Driton Kuqi, who’s the current Ambassador to Norway, has been issued measures of precaution. The Kocani Court is in the meantime considering the appeals filed by 12 other suspects. Among the other suspects in the case is also another Economy Minister, Kreshnik Bekteshi.
