VMRO-DPMNE’s initiative over the major problems in the procedure to issue personal documents and passports to citizens hasn’t been accepted by the Constitutional Court. Judges unanimously found that the article in the changes to the Law on Travel Documents was not in contradiction with the Constitution, the Court has said.
The party requested that the Court assess whether citizens, considering they hadn’t able to obtain passports and IDS, and not travel, had experienced a violation of their constitutionally guaranteed rights to free movement and other freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
According to VMRO-DPMNE’s initiative, the state first declared the expiry date of documents on forms in print, as each such document was being issued, and then changed it through a law at the direct expense of citizens.
