On Thursday, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski met Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic in Kumanovo.
Regarding illegal migration, they agreed organisational and technical assistance was needed from the EU. Dacic said most of the people illegally crossing into his country, more than 50%, came from Bulgaria. According to Toskovski, most of the people illegally crossing into his country come from Greece.
“Assistance from the EU so far, as well as future assistance, is welcome,” he noted.
Deepening cooperation, reducing long lines at border-crossings, joint patrols, and mutual support were among the other topics the two Ministers discussed.
One of the goals as far as the border-crossings issue is concerned, Dacic stated, is solving the problem at Presevo-Tabanovce. Cooperation between the two Ministries is successful, Toskovski and Dacic assessed.
