On Tuesday, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski survived the no-confidence motion filed against him by Levica, which was supported also by SDSM and DUI. 72 parliamentarians voted against, 20 were in favour, while there were no abstentions.
The motion was based on 10 grounds, half of which were directly related to the Pulse nightclub fire in Kocani. According to Levica, the Interior Ministry failed because it provided consent that the facility met conditions for protection of public order and peace, in addition to the traffic safety aspect.
Also, the party explained, the Interior Ministry has competences to check working hours, noise and loudness, presence of juveniles after midnight, serving alcohol, and use of narcotics.
In response, however, Toskovski stated that he wasn’t afraid of responsibility and that he would continue to serve to face the truth and solve all dilemmas. He commented on all items in the motion. Regarding the Kocani fire, he stated that the Pulse licence had been falsified. With regards to the pyrotechnics aspect, he stated that the Ministry worked according to the law.
