Ixhet Memeti Enters Plea Deal with Public Prosecutor’s Office

Ixhet Memeti, who’s among those suspected of accepting a reward for unlawful influence in the case concerning ex-Novo Selo Mayor Boro Stojcev, has entered a plea deal with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Though the law prescribes a prison sentence between one and five years, according to the plea deal, Memeti has been issued a suspended sentence of one year that will not become effective if he doesn’t commit a new crime in the next 36 months.

Also, he has been issued a three-year ban on serving as an official person. In addition, Memeti, alongside the submitted plea-deal initiative, has filed also his irrevocable resignation as Council of Public Prosecutors member, sent by him to Parliament.
