Jakimovski Reacts to US Blacklisting

Karpos Mayor and GROM presidential candidate Stevco Jakimovski said on Monday he was surprised by the decision by the US to blacklist him.

As he explained, he will file a charge against an unknown person over his blacklisting. In Jakimovski’s view, that represents direct interference in the election process.

“This just goes to confirm that my policy is right and in the defence of the Macedonian national interests. They’re putting me in the same basket as their pearl and shame, Katica Janeva, who would carry out investigations yet didn’t find anything about me,” he said.

The fact that Janeva’s dead husband has been blacklisted, he ironically added, shows how “studious the proposal of the snitches from Macedonia was” and how arbitrary the decision is.
