Commenting on the public stand by Justice Minister Krenar Lloga, who, citing conflict of interest, has asked the Judicial Council to exempt member Loreta Gjorgjieva from the Commission of Rapporteurs following a filed request to determine a judge’s liability, the Council said on Tuesday it honestly believed the Minister was familiar with the Judicial Council Law’s provisions, especially those part of Articles 33 and 661.
“Article 33 clearly prescribes the procedure about cases that provide for an exemption of a Council member, while Article 61, as well as several other consecutive articles, devise the procedure to determine liability of a court president or judge,” the Council said.
In response, the Minister said Council members were publicly pretending to be constructive, but they were in the background taking no action in order for statute of limitations over cases to expire.
